2021 FALL RECREATION SOCCER REGISTRATION NEWSLETTER

Parents – Fall Soccer Registration is now open. Please read the information below before you register.

DIVISIONS/ELIGIBLE GRADES/VENUE/SCHEDULE INFO –

MUNCHKIN DIVISION – Munchkins is a clinic program for 3.5, 4, and 5-year-olds. No soccer games are played. It is a structured and fun-filled 45-minute session learning basic soccer skills and learning how to follow instructions in a group setting. Munchkins play from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM Tuesdays and Saturdays. Tuesdays are at the ATF, Veterans Memorial Park, Zeek Rd. and Saturdays at Upper Knuth Soccer Field, Cooper Rd. 

CHALLENGER DIVISION – this division is for children and young adults age 4 to 21 with special needs. The session consists of a warm-up with calisthenics, running, and basic soccer activities. Challengers play from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Upper Knuth Field, Cooper Rd. Challengers play at no cost and have a separate link to register: link to register for the Challenger Division: CLICK HERE!

PREK – PreK players have to be 4 years old by 9/1 to participate. They practice 1 or 2 nights a week and have a game on Saturday. Team assignment, game, practice schedule, and location are not available until the last week of August.

KINDERGARTEN > 4^th Grade – These grades will practice 1 or 2 nights a week and play a game on Saturday. Team assignment, game, practice schedule, and location are not available until the last week of August. For Division 5 and Division 6 we have an initiative “in progress” to have home and away games with Morris Plains Soccer Club.

5^th, 6^th, 7^th, 8^th & HIGH SCHOOL GRADES – These grades have been playing fall and spring soccer in the Rockaway Valley Soccer League (RVSL) because we no longer have enough recreation players in these grades to create at least 4 teams. The RVSL is a traveling recreation soccer league and our teams play neighboring towns. Team information, practice schedule, and location are not available until the last week of August. The game schedule comes from RVSL and is targeted for late August or the first week of September.

SCHEDULE CONFLICTS – If the schedule does not work out for your family, we will give you a full refund. Please let us know before the season starts.

SPECIAL REQUESTS – You have a section to make one request to play with a friend, specific coach, or a schedule preference. We will do our best to make an accommodation, but cannot guarantee. Please do not do multiple requests; if you do, the director will pick only one.  If you register late, special requests cannot be done.  

DEADLINE TO REGISTER – Wednesday, June 23 9:00 PM

REGISTRATION COST – $80 for one player. $120 for 2 or more from the same family.

LATE REGISTRATION COST – $100 per player (no family discount).  Team placement is contingent on us having room in your child’s division. We do not create more teams after the 6/23 deadline and once the rosters are full, additional players cannot be taken. Your child will not miss out if you register on time and preferably after you read this email. LATE REGISTRATION CLOSES Friday, July 2, 9:00 PM. Note we had to turn away 25 late registration requests for spring soccer. DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN TO YOUR CHILD. REGISTER ON TIME!

RECREATION SCHOLARSHIP – Any families experiencing financial difficulty can contact HUB Soccer’s president Don Casse (doncasse@aol.com/973-627-8173) to play at no cost. Please do so before the June 23 deadline.

START DATE/END DATE – Saturday, September 11. Opening day will start at Gardner Field for team/individual pictures, concessions, and other fun stuff for parents and players. The end date is TBD but historically end of October or early November.
