2023 FALL RECREATION SOCCER REGISTRATION INFORMATION

GRADES/DIVISIONS – Munchkins (ages 3.5, 4 & 5), PreK (must be 4 by 9/1/23), Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade, 3rd & 4th Grade, 5th through 12th Grade (Rockaway Valley Soccer League).

Venue/Professional Training/Schedule – Grades PreK > 4th Grade

Professional Red Bulls Trainers – Professional trainers from the New York Red Bulls will provide training for our Pre-K and older players. Practices are on weekday nights and games are on Saturdays (RVSL games may occasionally be on weeknights). Team assignment, roster assembly, practice, and game schedule are TBD and targeted for late August.

Small-Sided Games – PreK – 4 v 4 no goalie. Kindergarten 4 v 4 no goalie. 1st/2nd grade 5 v 5 no goalie. Grades 3rd/4th – 7 v 7 with goalie. This small-sided venue follows US Youth Soccer guidelines for younger players and facilitates more touches, skill development, and actual play.

RVSL (Rockaway Valley Soccer League) Grades 5, 6, 7, 8 & High School.  – This is a recreational soccer league with other towns. Away games will be played in other local towns. Rosters are assembled based on birth year. Typically 5th/6th/7th grade play 9 v 9, 7th/8th & High School play 11 v 11 (due to birthyear rosters 7th graders are often split).

Parent Coaches – We need parent coaches to assist the trainer as needed and to run the team substitutions at Saturday games. Trainers will run practices and observe games and provide input to players after each quarter. We cannot finalize team assembly until we have a parent coach for each team.

FALL RECREATION SOCCER COST – $100 per player (Munchkins). $145 per player (Pre-K through 12th Grade).

FAMILY DISCOUNT – $45 discount per player for 2nd player. Max for 2 or more players is $245. All players from the family must register on the same form to receive the family discount.

SPECIALTY RECREATION PROGRAMS

Munchkin Division – This division is for players aged 3.5, 4 & 5. It is a clinic venue for learning basic soccer skills in a fun-filled 45-minute session. Munchkins play Saturdays at 1:00 PM at Upper Knuth Soccer Field, Cooper Rd., and Tuesdays at 1:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Park Artificial Turf Field, Zeek Road. You can do both or just one session (the cost is the same). The Munchkin roster is capped at 36 players. Do not wait to register!

Challenger Division – Challengers is for special needs players. A separate group email with details will be sent. Mentors from local high school and middle schools are needed!

Red Bulls Advanced Training Academy – we will once again offer an Advanced Training Academy on Friday nights. A separate group email will be sent with complete details.

DEADLINE to REGISTER/LATE REGISTRATION JUNE 30

We will decide on the number of teams on 6/30. There are caps on roster sizes for all divisions. Once the maximum roster size is reached for each team, that division is closed and late registration is not permitted.

SPECIAL REQUESTS – One request (car-pool, practice night, etc.) is permitted. You must put your request in the Special Request section when you register. We cannot accept special requests after you register. We can always accommodate special requests, but we will do our best.

OPENING DAY – Saturday 9/9

LAST DAY – Saturday 10/28 or 11/4 depending on division.

Information and instructions will be sent after registration on the date of the game and details on redeeming the complimentary ticket.
